The School of Russian Classical Ballet offers Russian ballet training exclusively with Indian and Russian-trained teachers.
The Director of the School Galina Lyakhova has worked really hard to popularize Classical Ballet in Delhi. Born in Volgograd (Russia), Galina studied Ballet and folk dance in Ballet school for seven years, and then she went to the Volgograd College of Arts and Culture (a college affiliated to Volgograd State Institute of Arts and Culture), Russia, for three years and graduated as Choreographer in classical and folk dance. She also studied Kathak for 3 years.
She has been teaching ballet in India for 15 years in the Russian Centre for Science and Culture (RCSC) and in 2015 opened her own School of Russian Classical Ballet located at Lajpat Nagar.
The annual show of the Ballet School is a huge success every year.
She was awarded the Badge of Honour 2014 by the Russian Government for her part in popularizing Russian culture outside the country (in India).
Under her the Ballet school has taken part in various cultural functions in Delhi and outside it also. They have also participated many in charitable functions.
She has staged shows such as “Chippolino”, “Midsummer Night's Dream”, “The Toy Shop”, “The Snow Queen”, “The Scarlet Flower”, “The Four Seasons” and many more. She also founded the first ballet competition for children, Mosaic of Dance, in 2016 and continues to organize it every year.
School of Russian Classical Ballet at New Delhi provides ballet classes for children (starting from 4 years of age) and adults.
